Well,

Been away for the w/end in the Rimor m/home.........it now has the total of 878km on it......

It pullls like an express train.........but it drinks diesel like anything.
Think i may have to have a rethink once it settles down, if there's no improvement, i may have to get the chip looked at.....what do you guys recon....!

8) Rocketship Rimor......all aboard please.....next stop, beer shop.

should be a little better i'd have thought especially at 60 mph :)

one thing we have noticed is mpg tends to get better on the new engines as they loosen up after the 1st few thousand miles - also power gets slightly better too :D

ok, i know it's as aerodynamic as a brick, but i thought i would be seeing high 20's maybe even 30mpg.
But I tell you some thing the torque is unbelieveable, I dont know how the clutch will stick it tho........i mean this thing pulls even from 55 in 6th....

The cruise control is sweet as well.
All i need to do now is install central locking. I wonder if the wiring room is allready there...! :?

Hi, I got a 2005 Rimor 137bhp last year with 2500kms on it, you think its good now , wait till you got a few more kms on it !.
Mines done 7000kms now and it has loosened up a treat, maybe more to come but i can tell a big difference already.
With the motocross trailer on full of bike ,tools, pressure washer and 40 gallons of water etc its doing 19.5mpg !!
We weighed the full rig......nearly 5 ton !!....ah well not so bad then lol

Hi, it's plated at 3.5 ton.
Just a thought, ive seen a towbar fitted to a Transit Rimor on just the weaker part of the extended chassis, i made sure that mine reached back to the stronger Transit chassis, hope yours is the same.
I was'nt too impressed at first but as the miles/kms crept up it got better and better, so iff you're having any doubts, stick with it, put some miles on it and enjoy.
As for the mpg, i don't worry about it, i was hoping for a bit more but i made my choice and am happy with it, if it gets better with more miles then great.
regards

APT,

Yes, my towbar goes back to the chassis leg, i looked at the Rimor website and seen how the put it onto the chassis and decided to follow suit...
When i ordrered my van, the guy that imported for me advised me to upgrade the chassis plate to 3,800kg in order to give me a bigger payload.

I think the van is a flying machine, and looked after properley it should serve me well. I tow a 13" long, 6ft 6" wide body trailer with an OMS sprint car (348kg) on it, so really it's not that loaded.

Anyway, if you need any Rimor parts i can recommend http://www.motorhomesltd.com, the propiter, Steven Pritchard is a sound guy, and he has very very good connection with the Rimor factory. I have used Steven for thr purchase of my last few m/homes.

Steven is just a straight talking no bull...t kind of guy....

I will lookout for another Rimor on the M1/M40 then.........cheers

K C
Ah good, glad you got the stronger tow bar, i could'nt believe anyone would fix a bar to just the lightweight overhang chassis, hope that owner knows and only pulls a camping trailer.
I am aware that i could have it uprated but ive got son and son in law that passed their tests after the cut off date and can't drive anything over 3.5, so untill they take further tests i will leave as is.
The more i use it , the more impressed i get, it really is a powerfull van, and if it gets more mpg after more miles then even better.
We use it most w/ends for motocross and we're off to Wales towing my daughters caravan next bank holiday so its ideal.
I will check the mpg and see if it's improved as i last checked it on 4000ks.
BTW, mine has the rear lounge, has yours ? or did you go for the garage version ?
The link you posted does'nt work, can you please check the address as he sounds like a usefull chap to know of.
Cheers for now

Fuel Economy

Postby originalcom » Sat Aug 04, 2007 7:00 pm

I have an 135T350 06 Ahorn Motorhome which is made by the IVR - the same company as Rimor & Kentuck Camp. We have now done 6000 miles get 21-25mpg although our is a high profile 7.1m long version. We are also usually pretty much up to the maximum permitted weight though.

If you get any problems with excessive smoke which seems to be a common complaint Ford loaded new injector values loaded when it was serviced that cured this.

Hi APT, Origionalcom,

Apt, no, i did not go for the rear garage, with two kids and we thought it better to be able to use the bunks and as our car/bike trailer contains all our gear we dont really need that much storage.
I have also been told that as the engine stands at the moment, it is chipped for heavy loads etc, and this may be the reason why the are heavy on diesel.
I will check this out and see if it is the case.........
They link should work APT, i have just used it, but here it is again anyway
http://www.motorhomesltd.com

Origionalcom, I donr have any problems with smokoing or otherwise, but it's only got as of theis weekend 1176km on the clock.
I will be heading for Italy next month, so i expect to put about 6k on the clock, so i will see what develops then.

Klipdrift, thanks, the latest link works.
Ah, same thought as me then regarding keeping all the ''stuff'' in the trailer.
At motocross at the weekend i asked another Rimor owner his milage and he also was getting around 20-22mpg, so e-bay it is then for the ''economy chip'' lol.
Originalcom, i also have had no problems re smoke & missfiring......here's hoping it stays that way, thanks for the ''heads up '' anyway.
