SPARE WHEEL

Postby m20 » Mon Aug 06, 2007 9:45 pm

hi

sorry for yet another post about the spare wheel but i have trawled all the advice given so far (and the manual) all to no avail...

i have a mk6 transit which came with the spare in the back...

couple of hours on my hand and so i thought might as well put it in the right place...

removed the locking bolt, winched down the bracket with the wingnut...
can understand that this is put through the center of the wheel from above, hooked around and then wing nut back on and winced up again...

however, there is a loop of metal on this bracket with a steel cable attached...

whats that all about ?

totally confused...

regards
david

I think the cable goes through the centre of the wheel, but no really sure TBH

IMO best place for the spare is in the back

the bracket goes through the center of the wheel and a small stud will locate into one stud hole to prevent it spinning and allow it to sit on the wheel correctly. Then just winch it up.

Easy :!:

the hoop goes through the middle of the wheel and fixes up with the 2 wing nuts

Leave it int he back, its much easier to swap then if its p*ssing down with rain and you have to change it.
