Aussie Mk1 Road Trip

Postby stooy » Sat Sep 24, 2022 12:10 pm

G'day Everyone,

I hope you are doing well.

I thought I would share some photos from a trip I am on at the moment.

We left Melbourne in August and headed up the East Coast of Australia to Hervey Bay in Queensland and have started heading back down the coast home.

So far we have covered 3500km with almost no issues. A sticky throttle pedal and loose rocker cover gasket bolts barely count.

We are getting 13-14mpg towing the caravan at 60mph (sometimes a bit less up hills) on LPG which I am pretty happy with.

Nice one Stewart, you Aussies got the Mk1 right IMO,(and the Mk2 was pretty good too!) you would pull that off with a piddly 1700 V4! ;)
