Transit 350 2.2 heat control valve location

Postby Onewhitey » Sat Feb 18, 2023 5:51 pm

Hi all, anyone tell
Me where the heater temp control valve is on 2016 transit 350 2.2l?
There’s no flow through the heater matrix. Thanks

Doesn’t have one, heater core gets hot water constantly.
If you look under bonnet you’ll see two pipes leading through bulkhead.

Thanks, I’ve had both the hoses off the plastic manifold and they are bone dry, even with the engine idling, it’s had a new water pump, thermostat, I’ve had a hose into the manifold and it flows through the matrix ok, it’s losing coolant somewhere but I can’t find the leak. the van runs fine. its going in for leakdown test on monday. im hoping its not the head gasket. thanks for reply.

If you're loosing coolant with no obvious leaks, you may have an EGR cooler leak.

This is my first transit, egr cooler leak?, where is that located? There looks like a new component has been fitted at the back of the head, is this a common problem? Thanks.

Mk7 or Mk8..?? Assuming RWD..?? You don't say what model Transit you actually you have. If it is indeed 2.2 RWD, the EGR cooler is behind the cyl head. Pain in the ar$e to get at.

Sorry, it’s a mk8 350, rear wheel drive, I can see a new component has been fitted on the rear of the head.
It looks like someone has been chasing this problem, couldn’t solve it and decided to sell. It was reasonably priced. I know someone who specialises in dpf, egr delete, mot is no problem. Is this an option?

DPF and EGR delete will have nothing to do with the EGR cooler.....if the EGR cooler is leaking, you usually have sweet smelling steam coming out the exhaust and slowly loose coolant with no obvious leaks.
