So since having it blasted and epoxy primed i have now finished any welding that i found. put the wings back on and painted it. I still will probably spray the roof again in the next few weeks as i think i can get it better. its polishing up nicely. hopefully have the bonnet painted this week.

With thanks to oldskooler for letting me know how much wider he banded his wheels on a previous transit he restored. i have decided to send a set of mk1 wheels i have to be banded. hopefully pick them up in the next week. Already had the front seats upholstered a couple of years ago so that's all ready to go in. I have since found a rear bench seat so that will be getting upholstered next week, once the bench seat is done i will be able to start rebuilding the interior.

Thanks oldskooler!! i have been waiting a long time to do the rebuild and i have managed to refurb a lot of parts as i have removed them. I think it will still take me another 6 months to rebuild as i want it all as new and decent as i can get it.

Managed to purchase a plastic front splitter. so have refurbed this today.

Nearly there with my crew cab, decided in the end to panel over the windows as it would require new windows as the old rubbers were too far gone. was planning to get some windows made but decided not to in the end as i think it looks good panelled over.

rear pickup i have tried to keep pretty original as i think the design suits it.

only thing left to change on the outside of the truck is the rear lights. i have two brand new original sets. one is for transit and the other is for the demountable camper box im making for it. will change them once its been mot.

Thanks. its pretty much there. i did spend a fair few hours replacing the diff that i had just rebuilt due to hearing knocking under load which weirdly it didn't do months ago when testing it up the driveway. i had a good look round underneath and noted that the propshaft bearing looked like it was close to catching the housing it was in. but no paint was missing of damaged so ruled it out. turns out it was not the diff and was the prop bearing that i had replaced like for like but due to the engine and gearbox change it must have made it catch!!!! waste of around 7hours cleaning another diff etc. will now probably change it back to the rebuilt diff but not till its finally on the road and registered. very shortly i hope. Meanwhile im building a demountable camper where the pickup bed comes off and a new body goes on. its actually already built as i done it last year but im on the fitting out stage.

a top build and a credit to you....it gave me great inspiration to crack on with mine when i get it back from the bodyshop....

was a good turn out too at this show!!! Great to see. would be cool to see more people using them out and about even if it is just to shows etc!!!

Yours is nicely modified, just right i would say and plenty of people clearly agreed as you won an award.

has your new one moved along any further?

cheers mate, a few folks also said they would prefer mine if it was standard, but each to theyre own i guess.....

yes theyre was a great turnout and variety of transit models at the show....i really enjoyed it....

progress is deffo slow with mine at the moment, but im happy with all the work hes done so far....so hopefully he will keep it up, and get it into paint soon....
