Low Idle Issue - 2014 TC 2.5L

Postby dsm600rr » Wed Sep 27, 2023 5:32 pm

Hello all,

New member here - 1st post. I am looking for some help tracking down a low idle issue.

When the vehicle is cold and started up, the idle is fine, until it warms up. Once it is warmed up, I am seeing approx: 650-730. I do not know what it should be at, however it feels low.

When I turn on the AC, the idle feels perfect. I am seeing approx: 770-790

Lastly, when I stop in somewhere quick, and go to start the vehicle while it is still warm, no AC - the idle with dip quite low and try to rebound, and then it settles at the 650-730RPM range which feels too low.

The vehicle is not showing any codes:

The Vehicle Recently had replaced, with OEM:
- Spark Plugs with OEM MotorCraft SP-530-X
- Ignition Coils with OEM MotorCraft DG-522
- Air Filter
- I cleaned the MAF in some rubbing alcohol - no change

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you!

2014 2.5L..??

You've got me confused....there's no such animal as a 2.5L petrol engine in a 2014 Transit.

Ah...so it's not actually a proper Transit...it's a Connect.

Proper Mk7 Transits only had a 2.3L petrol, 2.2 & 2.4L diesels.

You should go to the "Connect" section of the forum...:
