Well I've fitted the turbo, there's a bit of smoke when I floor it and there's no boost, I still have an engine warning light on but my quick code reader is in the combo.

I will get ids going and see. 1 thing I will say is that turbo I sent back went like fook. But I have the actuator from it.

Only went to the skip in it so I'll clear code's and get it hot maybe it is clogged from running without the turbo boost.

The turbo is in good nick though so not sure

Van is now tested for another year. They charged 45 quid then said it was class 7 so next year will be 5 quid.

I had to pay for another test.

So it failed on imbalance/ handbrake on drivers side not as good as left side. I bought a new caliper which didn't fix the problem. So having tried various things I decided that the left handbrake was too good. But I swapped both rear calipers complete from forskin and it passed.

Yes it was May, until Covid year, when they gave us 6 months grace period, which pushed it to November! It has scraped through every year since, until this year when the injector seals needed doing.
I've done those now, but I fear that rust may now be the issue :(

You'll need a full evaluation of underneath, I've learned that the outer panels can be replaced complete, there's a few that will need plates like the rear bumper beam area, the front of the rear arches and certain box sections.
The inner arches and outer arches and and wings and steps/sills etc. Can be purchased. But the bit you can't buy is the non drivers side inner sill panel. But you can buy a sill with maybe an inch or 2 inner panel as part of it.

That said. You also have the option of deciding if it is more or less solid underneath then blast it inside and out with rust remedy and then blast it with under body gloop. Then address the brake pipes.

And again every year. As long as the chassis and anchorage points are solid then it'll be safe for daily use.

Asbo was blasted with thick rock hard bitumen stuff so I really have no idea what it's like underneath but it feels solid so I'm not questioning it yet :D

 I know the theory, but my days of welding underneath vehicles are long over, and they all charge proper money for doing those things around here. It cost me five hundred quid just to get the drivers step replaced a couple of years back, so if it fails on anything major, I'll have gained a bigger shed for the driveway :P
