Hi all,
I have a LWB 1992 chassis cab, with approx 80,000miles, onto which a motorhome was fitted when new.
The propshaft has two rubber doughnut style auxiliary mounts (roughly at 1/3 and 2/3 distance between the gearbox output flange and the rear axle input flange) along the length of the propshaft, which are bracketed to the chassis of the vehicle. there is currently a small amount of side to side movement of the propshaft when I grasp the propshaft and push it sideways, on both of these mounts. The propshaft remains central in the two mounts, when I release it.
Does anyone know if this movement is expected, or should these mounts hold the propshaft bearings more firmly in place - I'm currently experiencing slight engine judder, when maneuvering at slow speed and slipping the clutch.
I don't want to replace these unless they are identified as worn.
Hope you can help.
Best regards, Les
