Ford Transit AWD PIDs

Postby VxO » Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:16 pm

Good evening,
I should monitor the AWD system of a Transit 2.0l produced in 2018.
I can't find dedicated PIDs. Does anyone know if there are any?
It would help me to at least know the front differential oil temperature.
Thank you very much for helping! :)

I'm not sure they even have diff oil temp sensors.

Near the solenoid there is a bulb that appears to be a sensor (see attached photo).
I need to monitor it via OBDII. :)

Looks like a pressure sensor...but yes, there should be info for it somewhere within Forscan one would think.

Unfortunately I can't find the right PID.
Does anyone know if there is a way to deduce this?
Maybe by disconnecting the sensor, and inducing an error, with Forscan I could understand something more.
Thank you.

AWD's are quite rare and not many on here have them....so not much info about them to be had.

Probably that is not a temp sensor but a switch so the ECU knows when is the front diff engaged...

I don't know if it's a sensor or a switch.
In any case, if I disconnect it, the fault and unavailability of the AWD system are indicated on the dashboard display. Unfortunately I can't intercept any DTCs using Forscan and Obdlink.
Can anyone tell me how to find the DTC or any sensor reference with Forscan?
Thank you. :)

It may not even exist in Forscan...Forscan caters many doezens of different vehicles and to cater for all vehicles is a mammoth job for a free software....especially for a small amount of AWB Transits. Send Forscan themselves an email asking the question on their forum.
