Low pressure fuel pressure in psi mk8 2014 2.2

Postby Steve49suzuki » Sun Dec 08, 2024 1:26 pm

Hello. Chasing a p0089 i know theres loads on here for that code, sensors wiring etc but just wondering what the low pressure runs at. I tried to measure it seems to be 8psi running under load drops to 7s have seen 6.4psi code comes on around 7s. Cheers.

In-tank pump just supplies the main high pressure pump with a low pressure fuel supply...I'm not sure what this supply pressure is supposed to be though.. :(

The Euro-4 machines with the Denso fuel system never had this...thank god.

So on euro 4 does the high pressure pump suck fuel from the tank ? Euro 5 pressure from the tank could be quite low then i was expecting it to be higher. I will keep digging. Cheers

i've answered the pump pressure question a few weeks ago --- so know

if you look here - scroll down for specs
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305719880578?

in tank fuel pump gives 0.5 bar maximum, that's half a bar or 7psi

think that would be ignition on ..engine ticking over or stopped

when flat out ...well that's another set of parameters

but says in the specs: flow rate 145 litres per hour

so basically you'll be doing a test over 1 min which is 145 divided by 60

which should return 2.41 litres a min, with i imagine an open pipe

all the best.mark

Yes, the Euro-4's essentially "suck" the fuel up from the tank.

Euro-4 has a Denso Fuel system, Euro-5 has a Seimens fuel system...they are "not" interchangeable.

The info our metalworker has given regarding the lift pump pressure is excellent.
