Missing wire

Postby Wheeler » Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:46 am

Hi everyone new here.

I’ve recently purchased a 2008 connect. Had a few issues with it starting in the cold weather we have had.

Had someone come out last night as it just won’t start now. Ran a diagnostic came back with glow plug circuit looked and the wire off the dipstick housing is gone. No sign anywhere. The dude said it looks like it’s been messed with as it has white tape round some of the trunking.

My question where do I start to find the origin of the missing wire ?

Sorry Mark. It’s from behind the dipstick. Just wondering if anyone would notice something missing. I just need to trace back to where it originates from so I can run a new wire or repair and refit it.

Yes it’s a 1.8 tdci.

Downward view.

well took me a while to find a half decent picture ..the wire is from one glow plug to the next then sneaks up near the right side of the rocker cover to a terminal at 3 o-clock in the picture

note: somewhere in that block of black plastic there may be 60 amp fuse-able link that blows

Oh that eBay picture has slightly helped. I have the red wire attached to the glow plugs. It’s the main feed wire I’m missing. The eBay picture helped as i can look for a green wire with a yellow strip. Just need to know where in the loom to look.

Thank you Mark.
