I had to return my new Ford transit 74 plate to Hendy Ford today as an engine warning light had come on it needed to go in anyway as had a couple of recalls ! Shortly after I was called to say I had rodent damage to my wiring ? Really so I asked to be sent a picture so I could see it ! It didn’t look like rodent damage to me more like it’s got caught on something!
I was even more surprised when they said it was going to take three hours to repair and cost £486 ? So I called an auto electrician who is extremely good and showed him the photo he also didn’t think it was Rodent damage and said it’s an hours work £ 85 plus vat but he didn’t have the Ford software to reset it so had to bite the bullet and paid Hendy Ford the money , I asked for a picture of the finished job so I could check it was done and what I could do going forward to stop this happening again , omg basically they wrapped the exposed wires in duck tape couldn’t b re live it they said it anti rodent ?
But then when I kick off a bit they said I was the third person that day with the same problem????? Omg if you look at the position of the cable you can see why and if this is so common what is Ford doing about it and how many other vans are having the same problem????
