Apologies if there's already a thread on this topic - would very much appreciate some pointers in the right direction please.
Transit MK7 260 LR
Reconditioned engine fitted last week after conrod failure! All ancillaries remained original - mechanic checked all and only replaced injector seals and one glow plug
No fault codes/dash lights prior to engine failure...
Mechanic said all felt great on test drive, but I've since noticed sluggish acceleration response.
Not sure what to tackle first as I know it can be a bit of a needle in a haystack to find the cause.
Added to that, this morning it started up but cut out after 4/5 seconds. Multiple times. Thought that could be a separate immobiliser issue so locked/unlocked a few times and it started, idled and ran fine. Still no warning lights on dash.
Here's my hitlist. I'd be so grateful if someone could put these in order of priority for most likely culprit/potential cure, and also if any are most likely not worth worrying about:
- MAP - check and clean ✅
- MAF - check and clean ✅
- Fuel System & DPF 'snake oil' additive
- Fuel filter
- PCM firmware update / relarns needed?
- Suction control valve (SCV)
- Pressure relief valve (PRV)
- Throttle body
- EGR valve
- DPF Cleaning
- Blocked Vaporiser
- Anything else?
Finally, I've been thinking about getting a cheap fault code reader. Any value in that? If so, any recommendations?
I'm in West Cornwall - if there are any members nearby who might be able to lend a hand, there's beers and pastys in it for you at the very least!
Many many thanks all.
