2017 Ford Transit Courier 1.5 - intermittent loss of power

Postby bladds » Mon Apr 07, 2025 9:27 am

Hi all,

My transit courier has developed an annoying fault, in that at approximately 2000rpm on acceleration it suffers from what seems like a momentary loss of power (1-2 secs) then drives normally. When this loss of power occurs, the engine service light (gearbox symbol) and service light (spanner) comes on.

The warning lights extinguish, most of the time when the van is restarted after a short period of time.

I am thinking MAF sensor, and have removed and cleaned it, to no avail.

Using a OBD reader, it came up with a P2279 fault code - Intake air system leak.

Anyone else experience anything similar?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

i don't quite understand the meaning of the answers to this fault when i look for it ...as it translates to not air leak, but valve train fault when they dive deeper

so digest ..and think about it , if pointers are correct, it is something to worry about
