Rear doors won’t unlock

Postby MarkSpecc » Sat May 24, 2025 4:41 pm

Hi all, I have a 2013 connect. Van is not regularly used maybe once or twice a month for hobbies. The rear doors now won’t unlock no matter what I do. I did intermittently have this problem before but only using remote and put it down to low battery. I was able to open the doors from the inside when this happened using the yellow release. This now won’t work either

I have removed the inside panel to check and can’t see anything wrong. Also when trying to unlock using the remote the actuator/motor in rear lock does sound like it’s trying to do something. I think the rear lock could be seized. Can anyone advise before I resort to using a angle grinder

Looks like you'll be getting in the back and spraying lube at the mechanism - and then operating it a few times.

You could also pull and push on the door as you are operating the key fob or the key, or smack the door in the general area with palm of hand ,,, but not so hard as to dent the door.

all the best.mark

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I had already tried what you had suggested although I have now manage to open the rear doors. I followed what this guy suggested.

My lock mechanism didn’t have a child lock so I had to drill a hole where it would have been though. I now think I might have ruined the rear mechanism as I plugged it back into the loom and nothing moves happens. I know the loom can also fail. I’m sure some posted what readings you should get with a multimeter but can seem to find them.

Can anyone point me in the right direction
