Hi all,
I have a similar issue. 2018 Custom 2.0 Ecoblue. Over a year now! Engine died on the motorway. AA said cam chain (belt, obviously!) opened it up, belt intact, timed up etc. changed everything in there anyway, cleaned strainer etc. Checked with a friend’s entry level scanner. It had high pressure on the low pressure side and low pressure on the high. Changed the fuel filter (plus new oil and full service kit) no difference! Had a ford engineer around with his ford diagnostic. Injectors ok, but showing the same codes. P0092 p0088 and p1212:64-27. He recommended the fuel pressure regulator on the common rail. Fitted this and still the same codes. Gave up for a while, but every now and then had someone out to try to diagnose. Found and booked RAC mechanic for £99. He spent a long time going through each system and said that it was the control unit attached to the pump, this don’t come separately! But RAC said they could do the job. Took over a month to get their mechanic who turned up with a regulator I’d already changed and blacklisted me for arguing with him. I bought the special tools to change the high pressure injection pump for a new ford item (the timing gear fell off while i was removing the tool so had to set it by hand) So, I have a TopDon scanner (attaches to the phone but clumsy to use) it says the other codes are clear but p1212 remains. It felt like it wanted to start but chugged until the crank time warning came up. Now nothing so assumed a little fuel in the pump from factory test? Checked the low pressure pipe marked with red dash (assumed this was flow but didn't go into the bottle so?) fuel went all over the place. Is the red one the return? If so, it seem the fuel is going to the injector pump? I’m now thinking of changing the sensor and pipe 9J280 but seems that this was working. Unless it bypasses if faulty but have no idea how these work? I need help!
