And this fixed the squeal? Had you replaced the water pump with a different brand to cause the squeal or did it just start happening?

I replaced a tensioner which caused the squeal so I thought, I was then shredding belts so I then put the old tensioner back on and it still squealed. From there iv tried 4 different tensioner. Replaced fan pulley, idler, alternator water pump and vacuum.

Stuck a new belt on the other day and it just falls off after squealing for a minute or two.. Something still isn't right

you've only got the bottom crank pulley to check then.

Have you checked the alignment of the water pump and the vacuum pump? The Ford parts are totally in line in terms of the teeth on the pulley whereas all of the vacuum pumps and water pumps I've had are out of line. I've replaced the same amount as you but did the crank pulley on mine and not the alternator but the squeal is still there.

I have a Ford vacuum pump coming to test with the aftermarket water pump.

I have pattern water and vacuum pumps on my 2.4 140 and they work fine, they have been there for a few years now, no leaks or squealing belt.... I fitted a new belt, tensioner and idler pulley at the same time and have'nt even bothered to check it since...if it ain't broke I'm not going to fix it.

She's due a fairly major service in a month or so, oil, oil, air & fuel filters...coolant change, gearbox & diff oils changed out etc...
