transit mk7 starts then dies with dash going off

Postby crownwheelchair » Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:44 pm

Hello,

i have the most stranges problem with my ford transit mk7 2012.

It will start the first thing.
then I will get abs, traction airbag light come on and then everything will die. fully switched off, no dash lights at all.
and then if I try to start it all the lights will come on but no engine turn at all. abs, traction , airbag lights will come on and vehicle will not turn.

if I wait for about 5,10 min then it will start for about 5sec and again I will get all the lights and every thing will fully die. no dash lights at all.

and again wont start for about 5,10 min.

i have changed the ecu, and bcm. but the same problem stays,

any idea please

thanks

Change out the ignition switch too, just to rule it out...cheap and easy to do.

PCM's & BCM's rarely fail.

so guys still no luck.
i have changed the relay under driver seat and also ignition switch. still exactly the same.
so so far

changed

ecu
bcmi
ignition switch
ignition relay under driver seat. two relays under glovebox.

so recap.

vehicle will start and switch off after about 7sec.
when I start it after about 3 sec abs lights and airbag light will come on.

and about 7sec vehicle will switch off.
if I try to start it again it will not start. even the engine doesn't turn. n
Now either I wait for about 5min or turn the battery terniman off. which will make it start.
if I take battery terminal off it will start straight away. if not I have to wait about 5min

Have you had it checked for fault codes ?
When this first happened had there been any work done on it just before this happened ?
