I wanted a ranger 4x4 but can’t justify the price of one for the model I want

When I find the right ideally petrol connect il go for it. My best mate has offered his neeer one to me as he is changing it next year but will have to see what the tax man says before I can think about it as that’s when we both want to have a new motor each

Bought a biulkhead off ebay .

2006 75ps 1.8 - Prestatyn to Froghall and back 190 miles total , lost my way a bit
52.99 mpg

up to m56 doing 50 mph - m56 and m6 doing mostly 60 mph - then 50 mph again

Brimmed the tank .. but don't know how much diesel expands in tank after a journey like that but that's how it calculated for 16.3 litres and 190 miles.

Because of the expansion of the diesel, me not knowing how much the tank had expanded --- or even contracted putting the new fuel in .. i went back to the petrol station today -less than a mile from me - cold start... i put in 1 litre dead as it turned out , to the same spot in the filler neck

So now the true mpg is 50.19... 191 miles and 17.3 litres

Note : i don't do this all the time .. i'm not crazy ... last time was over a year ago ...

it's just done to give me an idea on how well the engine is performing. looks like its doing well.

Tell you what i have noticed, even when you put it in slowly ...there is still froth coming out of the filler pump nozzle,, makes you think you are paying for aerated diesel, doesn't it! volume of bubbles being counted as fuel!

Forgot to mention it was a 75hp and TDDI, short wheel base, low top with a rack on roof.
