windshield wipers

Postby RDD Tiff » Thu Aug 14, 2025 10:18 pm

I live in Las Vegas and my van sits a LOT, I do not have a garage so it sits out in the elements. I use it less than once a month and I seem to be putting wipers on a couple of times a year whether I am buying cheap ones or expensive ones ... is that normal due to my dry climate? Or are there superior ones that I should try? Thanks!

The Nevada sun and lack of use is killing them...not much you can do, they just dry out and crack/split. I have the same issue here in Australia...silly amounts of sun and high temps...

Can you not put something over them when not in use to shade them? Slide a piece of pipe insulation or similar over?

You could just take them off or is it that touching the windscreen affects them I know in winter that a lot of the eastern eruptions in the uk lift the wipers off the screen in winter
