What did you do to your mk6/7 today?

Did a little bit more of the stretchy carpet stuff, need to order more for the drivers door and get some matt black plastic paint for the door grab/window switch and door handle

I think anthracite is nice I'm just worried about stock sweets and people having it and ripping it. Rhumblebee many moons ago had good all flocked with a tougher material. I don't know what ever became of the van though yellow mk7 gas van transit.

That looks very nice! Which stuff did you buy. I want to get some and have been told you get what you pay for. YouTube recommended Harrison trim supplies. They could have been sponsored though…

I used this stuff off eBay, 3x2m was £20 it’s seems ok for the price baring in mind my vans a work van so probably going to get paint or something on it so didn’t want to spend a fortune

That seems reasonable and for that price I can buy some, try it and if it works out get more later. My sound deadening and insulation should be arriving at home today so I need to deal with that first.

tested new sound system today! Found a JVC head unit that required minimal trimming of the fascia to fit into the odd sized stereo hole on my Mk6. lots of gluing of little brackets with epoxy behind the panel to hold the whole lot in. etc Bought some JBL speakers that were almost a direct fit into the doors - these required an 8mm spacer as the much larger magnets fouled the window regulator. Ran the USB cord from the stereo into the blank plug below the stereo so I can plug my phone in. Reversing camera is also fitted, as this is a campervan with a large box body with terrible rear vision. Now it has the same tech (almost!) as my 2018 Custom

Completed the work on my high Top MWB 2.4tdi, it was at a good price as it would not run for more than a few minutes before cutting out. So I replaced the fuel pump with a one wire Bosch VE pump. It now has from the dash adjustable boost & fueling. It needed a little welding at the back but Im very happy with it, returns about 30mpg .
Having a double row timing chain & the one wire pump, reliability worries I dont have!.

Yes it is, I found that a little time spent getting the timing correct made all the difference as you know its not a case of moving the pump back or forth.
A EGT gauge is a must have & BTW Im running a 300tdi pump the stock fuel pin was too lean, I fitted an aftermarket pin with a steep ramp & that is spot on.

undid and cleaned up/bolted back the drivers seat base earth strap on my 16 year old 234000 mile fwd mk7, having read your posts about it...so far it seems to have cured the intermittent starting fault i guess tomorrow will tell

Not specifically my Mk7 but have fitted what I believe to be the first air locker diff lock to a Mk7 rear axle
Took a bit of effort as it's not as "on paper" specs might suggest, a straight swap.

But it fits and locks. Though the real test will be once it's installed along with it's matching front locking ranger diff and is put to work out in the wild

Guess it depends where and how and what for. But in general I don't see a problem they're only plastic

Yesterday, tidied up the exposed end of the panelling on the side of the van, several sheets of cardboard, some 3mm ply off cuts and black 4way stretch carpet later.
