No such animal as a 2011 2.2 100 Euro-4 I'm afraid...Which engine do you have..?? It's not a Euro-5 is it..?? What's the actual "build date", not reg date..??

Ignition switch can give the symptoms you describe.

Good afternoon not sure where the euro 4 bit came from yes euro 5 new switch been fitted have popped another one in and same issues so it’s not that I fear
So if the immobiliser light goes off and I turn the key where does the 12v live go from there
How does the immobiliser stop engine from turning over
Which part controls that from happening pls

Could be wrong .. but you do say immobiliser light hit and miss.
Cheap and easy things first.
Think the key is rechargable and has a battery .... eventually even a rechargable one will fail

So my next move would be to replace the battery again ...
Tip ...look at dates o the battery packaging, a brand new one has an expiry date 10 or 12 years into the future. must be lithium to be reachable i think.

and I've read that you can recharge beforehand by placing next to a toothbrush charger.

You said it was 2011 which is normally Euro-4. "Build date" will determine what model it is..

Immobiliser, if activated, tells the BCM/PCM not to engage the starter.

hi there bud
well it finally decided enough is enough and light is now flashing like a trouper had a locksmith out too take a look at her too find out it has lost coms with the transponder chip the collar thing around ignition barrel seems too be ok as he tested it with some hand held gizmo
the remote works fine well it dont now as he deprogrammed the key but that opened and closed the doors but didnt start the engine
its a copy / spurious key that has a slot in button cell i popped a new one in and so did he too no joy
it appears that these cheap copies are a waste of time my new key thats now on order £300 notes too programme it in omg this van is expensive
so i guess ill have too suck it up and see what happens next guess im on rations for 3 month too pay for it
i did put forscan on there and it came up key not read as did the icarsoft tool i have which works rather well tbh
any further ideas greatfully welcomed
i will post an update on this one as it seemed a very strange problem from the off

There are no new ideas from me, 'cause i don't know more than the locksmith.
My keyfobs have played up, chinese copies.. different system than yours , looked up info on them and "bigclive" youtube electronics guru says that all the chinese replacements pack up after a short while in use and he does not know the reason why . on that information .. i went out and bought another chinese one as a spare, cause i was head scratching for ages .. and that was just the central locking .
So chinese one is £4.79 delivered .. and if i get a year out of it will be happy, then the spare one comes out , a year, which is what i got out of the first one before it got worse after the the first year ... before it would hardly work at all , after trying different locations or first day of the week or 10th hour of the day.. run around the van three times, stand on my head ... you know .. just mysterious and confusing, when they start to act up.
CONCLUSION - HELL OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN £4.79 AND £300
