On going Maf / egr ? problem

Postby tedtransit » Sat Oct 25, 2025 9:45 am

some may have seen my previous post regarding the EGR stuck closed problem , well I thought i'd sorted it but apparently not
After repacing the valve (eurocar parts https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/starline ... -424590592?) I got a warning of curcuit two low with the engine managment light on , I cleard the code but it came back , spoke to my mechanic neighbour who explained what it might be and advised a Pierburg instead , however that warning /fault went away ,BUT the maf warning has now returned ( I also changed that with a part from Transit parts uk ) and as before only comes on once the van has warmed up and driven from cold a few miles.
once again I wonder if anyone can shed light on this please ?
thanks in advance
regards
Ted

Hello Mark
yes it was yourself who said that but with work presure I was unable to get a Pieburg and cant afford a ford one ,,,

howevery after inspection I have found a hole in one of the intercooler pipes and wonderd if that would caus this error ??
thanks

well the maf sensor monitors this .. and the EGR "OPEN"or turbo boost pipes holed WILL cause fault and would show in vans performance.

other
turbo - one of two systems you may have - .
1 turbo waste-gate or manual diaphragm actuator fault if it has that set up
2... or electronic actuator fault if it has that set up
.
EGR closed .. would not cause any loss in performance... but a warning and code... i think

Hello again
yes it seems that was the broblem . the pipe had rubbed on the cross member over the years ans worn through , so made a patch and tiger sealed over , also made a new thicker rubber to go over crossmember to prevent it re occuring
roat tested today and all seems well now
many thanks to all who replied with advice , much appreciated
regards to all
