For reference, and maybe identify if it could be a timing chain issue:

- Here the sound when reeving on neutral: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P9WuBf ... sp=sharing
Can be wrong but it does not looks like "tractor noise" to me, and it does not struggle to rev up

- Here, on load, trying to get past 3000 RPM: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kMpydW ... sp=sharing
Gas pedal on the floor, camera move when engine has some "rattle" or misfire.
(Yes speedometer give totally wrong values...)

Thx all !

In those videos my old ears cant hear anything out of the ordinary .. you need the mic in the engine compartment.

Thx for the reply ! In my middle aged ears it sound quite normal, at least in neutral / no load.
Maybe bad firing but not tractor level.

Since I've no other clues and it seems the symptoms match, I will try a timing solenoid replacement.
Pump ref is YC1Q 9A543 EF so I will go with part number 0 986 444 954

Replacement does not look easy so I'll try to find a mechanic to do it

Thanks all

So what fault codes are you getting NOW that the EDC has been fixed.

Good luck .. hope this cures it .. get back if it does or not.

one thing you've not mentioned if the pump was in time, if it has a timing chain replacement or timing chain has jumped, it will not be (only assuming here, not got the manual for 2.0 tddi could be overhead valve for all i know)

After fixing the EDC:
- Clear the codes, ran 10 miles, then changed Fuel filter + bleeding: Then I read P0149 and P1564
- Clear the codes again and run 50 miles: Then i read only P0149

Engine runs quite normal until 3000 rpm, but when reaching 2800/3000 rpm i have:
- Lack of power (very hard to reach 3500 rpm)
- Some noise / rattle i would call "engine misfire" but not sure the exact terms

It looks like this issue: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=222556
So my guess currently is either:
- Timing solenoid fault
- or Timing chain issue, chain jumped

The truck have 135000 miles and has never been serviced for timing chain (maybe it's time...)
But i have sometimes jump started it (did not knew it was bad on this model...)

So i plan to get the Timing solenoid part and try to find a local mechanic to install it and maybe also check / service the timing chain.
(I dont have the skills and workspace to service the timing chain myself for now)

Thanks for your replies !
