I "Think" I've found a list of all the fault codes, could someone please take a look at it before I download it.

https://www.scribd.com/document/587427946/Ford-Codes

Thanks :)

i usually cant get into scribed .. or it takes me somewhere else or stalls the computer , or asks to sign in or subscription

There are plenty of lists of fault codes on the net in html on webpages , no download required

BTW the fault codes are not just ford - they are universal and for all cars and vans

and if you put phrases such as "p1022 fault code" into google .. it will give you a full description.

put in to google: p1022 fault code - ford transit and it will give you a specific answer for transit ... and go into detail when pressing "show more"

so no need to be looking for list or downloading from dodgy subscription sites.

90 percent of the time with google its bang on correct, other times sometimes just makes it up and puts transit labels on it
and if you don't like what google says ... it will give you a different explanation, perhaps more accurate. when pressing refresh.

Thanks Mark, that's brilliant information.

I was hoping all Ford codes were the same, but had no idea all the manufacturers had got together.

I'm not sure I've ever seen such comprehensive answers from Google AI either, it must have read the list :D

I'm in Portishead and have an OBD reader, happy to lend it to you or even come to you if it's easier. What's the make and model of your van? Also, have you tried clearing the fault code to see if it comes back on?

Why not just download Forscan, it's free and the cable is cheap enough.??

Hi,
That was my plan based on all the advice on the forum.
I have downloaded and installed Forscan and purchased a vLinker connector from Amazon.
Unfortunately the vLinker needs a specific windows driver which is not on my elderly laptop and won't install on the laptop without a windows update and that won't work either :(
I'll try again today to update Windows, but I don't hold out much hope. Yesterday it was "updating" for about 3 hours and then failed, saying Windows needs to restart.

Is it possible to run it in "compatibility mode" that often allows things to run without massive disruption to your machine, though it's usually for older devices to run on newer machines.
Worth a look or a Goggle.

What version of Windows are you running....?? Win10/11 will auto connect to most things these days....

When I first got the V-Linker, (and all the other cable types), it just connected straight away. I have Win10 on my old lappy.

Well I gave up with the vLinker Forscan combinationm, I could not get the necessary drivers to install on my elderly laptop.

I googled Transit OBD2 and found a Youtube video of a guy looking up and clearing his faults and he was using one of these:-

obd2.jpg

I searched for the model number "V520" and it was £30 on Amazon, but I also found it for £10.72 on Temu.

It arrived the other day and for the basics it works fine. shows faults (It only showed 1) and clears them, plus gives live engine data when the van is running.

I suspect Forscan could do more, but it's OK for me for know.

Paul,
P.S. it works on my Golf too.
