1994 ford herald Aragon motorhome - fuel pump

It is apparent that the fuel pump on our Herald has ‘gone’, and we are having difficulty sourcing a replacement. Any pointer or advice as to what we can do next would be greatly appreciated

Define fuel pump?

The one pulling fuel to the injection pump, or the injection pump itself?

Given its a Herald Aragon I assume its a Turbo Diesel with the lucas EPIC pump - but is it a late mk4 or an early mk5?

That's the fuel injection pump, a Lucas Epic which are hard to find in good condition and trying to find someone to repair it is just as bad, and I think the DSA947 is the only one that isn't interchangeable with the other Epic versions, but Matt can advise on that.
If its not an auto gearbox van then it's possible to fit the more readily available Bosch VE Injection pump and throttle pedal.

No my knowledge on these is not so good, Matt is the best for Lucas Epic pumps, I've only ever really swapped them for the Bosch.

so as you have seen DSA 947 is for the mk4

You can swap to a bosch and get rid of all the engine management stuff.

Medway City Diesel are one of the few places that can rebuild the EPIC pumps

if your down south way try wade diesels in hoddesdon herts, they did one for me BUT it was like 15 years ago?
