Full lock weird noise

Hi All

I’ve watched the video earlier in this thread and the guy used a big Alan key to remove the alternator pulley. It does seem like a big Alan key will fit into the end of the pulley see photo attached however I have bought an alternator Toole set but there isn’t a big Alan key in there to fit into the end of the pulley, so now I’m not sure which is the correct method to remove the pulley. Any guidance much appreciated.

Problem solved. Didn’t know there were different sized alternator tool kits!

Does the adaptor in the kit you bought not fit ?

No unbelievable it doesn’t fit. But I’ve bought another adapter I needed 17mm nut. Not 22mm as in the kit

The key nut was 22 mm
The inside of the pulley is 17mm

Yeah,I’ve just checked our tool and it’s 17mm

Be aware though,The pic you’ve posted of the other tool above shows the splined adaptor.
(Unless it’s another full kit including 17mm adaptor)

FINALLY, on the 3rd attempt, they have sent the correct pulley removal tool AND new alternator pulley.

Alternator pulley changed and noise has stopped and all good
