1998 transit 2.5d with no banana intake manifold

Hi All,
I have a 1998 transit based Autosleeper Duetto campervan. It has a 2.5 naturally aspirated diesel engine but looks nothing like the "banana" intake manifold engine that I am led to believe would be correct for that period.
I have some mechanical knowledge and have owned and run diesels for many years but am a newbie on this club site and would be grateful for any information to solve my little puzzle.

Duettos were fitted with either a 76PS Non Turbo DI engine, or the 85PS 2.5TD engine

If its not a turbo, and doesn't have the "bananna" manifold, its had a 70PS engine fitted. Exactly the same in every respect except the injectors, the "mapping" on the injection pump and the manifolds.

Don't be too upset about the loss of 6PS - it really makes no difference at all.

Are you 100% certain its not a turbo engine? The turbo is well hidden below the exhaust manifold and by the air box
