Mk7 2.2 FWD DPF Issues

Postby depeate » Sun Apr 05, 2026 7:35 pm

Evening people.
I am at my wits end with this pos nail.
For the umpteenth time its put the engine management light on again for DPF soot accumulation, only had it back from the garage last week after another regen, just been serviced as well.
Done barely 50 miles
Doesn't help that I'm only a low mileage user, all my customers are local therefore only doing as little as 3 miles per day, stop start, stop start,(5k per year max)
I'm very aware that this is the cause of the issue with the exhaust not getting hot enough to burn off the excess soot.
in the last 4 years it's had at least 8 regens 2 egr valves,2 vaporisers and one full DPF removal and clean, along with new turbo actuator, rocker cover and sump.
Any input/ideas gratefully received.
Thanks
Dave

it may all be down to the vaporiser , this is the tube with nozzle the squirts in the diesel to regenerate it .. if its partially blocked , then you will not get the heat needed.

could be that all attempts to fix have ignored the vaporiser

other faults causing DPF blockage are .
leak in the boost pipes
faulty EGR
high mileage worn engine
bad injectors
multiple forced regens that have buggered the DPF

but to diagnose these things and put you on the right track .. you need forscan .. this is free software you download to a windows lap top .. you buy the interface cable

without you are blind and paying garage bills .

Thank you mark, its already had a new vaporiser last week, mileage is approx 178,000, egr replaced 2000 miles back.
my garage used snap on diagnostics, is the Forscan a lot better? and where do you download it from please?
thank you

Forscan is as good as snap-on .. as it's specifically designed for reading ford cars.

Probably has all the functions of snap-on reader.
Snap-on costs north of £2000 -- and Forscan is the price of a cable £20 for v-linker cable.

Where you will find the software download and all the info on using it.
