Tailgate question

Postby mjsroofing » Mon May 18, 2026 5:45 pm

I want to covert my van to a tailgate rather than barn doors, my van is a medium roof, and I have seen a picture of a medium roof with tailgate before , im sure I have, but now I cant find it anywhere.
Do they do a medium roof with tailgate ?

Issue may be the hinge mount reliefs on the top...the barn door type doesn't have them, I'm sure there's a way around that though. Also finding a medium roof sized tail gate might be difficult.

I've seen SWB low roof with a tailgate...can't say I've seen a medium roof version.

If you have a friendly Ford dealer parts department some will have a look for you to see if such a thing exist's.
Just say you are after a price. If it does exist they might do you a deal.

For a mid roof tailgate there's a insert panel that goes at the top of the door gap so you can fit a std low roof tailgate.
I may be wrong but pretty sure you don't get a med roof tailgate.
