Some bloke on tiktok said if I run my air filter under the shower for an hour and then put it in the air fryer at 180 degrees for 15 minutes it would be as good as new.

Changed "grumbly prop bearing" today and noticed a suspicious bit of floor whilst underneath.

So like a total dick I poked it.
It produced a hole under the passenger seat.

Ford did away with the tilting seat arrangement,so I had to spanner the sh*t out of it

Tbh it's a wonder the seat hadn't fallen through.

Most of the rot was hidden by the tank, box section and the heat shield underneath.

I do like a challenge

Rust is lighter then carbon fibre, I like to say it’s not rusting its weight saving

Rusting from within the metal seems to be a chronic disease with some Transits. Apparently Ford used batches of poorly recycled metal that wasn’t properly processed which contained micro bubbles of rust within the sheet metal. So even after cleaning and painting the rust will appear again from underneath.

I use Owatrol oil to treat it. It’s got good penetration and works very well on hard to reach areas.
Keep on Transiting !

After replacing the engine with a rebuilt one, I'd only driven 1,000 kilometers when I noticed vibration in the driveshaft. It turned out that all six CV joint mounting bolts on the driveshaft had come loose.
I slightly moved the hanger bearing and tightened the bolts with an impact wrench.
While driving on a bad road, I damaged the front right tire—a bulge popped out. I installed winter tires and bought a couple of new winter tires and mounted them on the rims. I'll put the wheels back on with new winter tires in the fall.
The engine has already covered over 1,000 kilometers since reassembly, and I'm already shifting into fifth gear on sections where I can reach speeds over 80 kilometers per hour.
I had the body welded and painted last year. I don't see any new holes, but the paint is damaged in places and rust is showing through.
