i ran my landrover on it for years no problems at all for every 5ltrs of veg oil i put in 2 cap fulls of bb lighter fuel to it ran lovely smelt a bit iffy thou

A scaffolder i work with sometimes has ran his pick-up on veg oil and something else for years. Apparently the mix is quite crucial and he has some wierd set-up in the garage to produce it.

I don't wanna risk pouring a load of rapeseed oil into the tank though for fear of being stranded with a shagged fuel system !!!

No they've all run out of rapeseed oil
I've been in 8 differnt Tescos this week already and only 1 ltr bottles left so somone out there is running on loads of it

I have run my Hi Cube (n reg) 50/50 diesel and vegetable oil and it goes like a dream with the only problem being what to do with all the 3ltr bottles I have waiting for disposal.

No starting trouble with the mix I use even after the last few days frost and wintry showers.

Drastic reduction in black smoke aswell after a few minutes warming up even though it used to fail the MOT every year on it before.

I am looking at going 100% veg oil soon and I don't expect many if any problems with it.

I got a old stationary engine thats diesal at home thats running on veg oil with a drop of parraifin in it..1 ltr of oil and 5 ml of parrafin...runs well no loss of power.its my back up generator for the house electrics.and the bonus it starts better and very little smoke the engine is a petter ph1.

I've heard that on of the main things to look out for is the fuel line seals. Apparently rubber ones don't like veg oil and won't last as long. I've heard that pugs can run oil straight away because they have nylon seals. Anyone else heard this?

i used to use it in a granny 2L auto and was getting 18% better economy before i sold it
it is supposed to break down the surface tension so the fuel burns better ,i cant say i noticed any speed advantage but it sure was nice to save a £ or 2
acetone can be got from your wife or partners dresser(sorry to fredtransit and any other ladybobs) its nail varnish remover and i used get it from my local paint shop supplyes for use as a degreaser for body pannels and to take stickers off before painting

I have enquired about this and was told that the German fuel pumps (Bosch) run wonderful on veg oil but the Lucas pumps can be a real pig anyone know if this is true as I have a Lucas fitted and really want to try veg oil.

i had read the bang on opposite, and was a bit p*ssed off cos out big un has twin tanks and a Bosch pump.
