Air horns

ive got a jcb compress which i run some power tool off, to run the compress ive got a 2000w inverter ,im kitiig the out into a mobile workshop , so i will run a air seat of it , i already have some 170db train air horns runing from it

I had to use my horn for first time other day and it was soooooo feeble

i dont no the law on horns , im gonna put a standard one on too just incase , i had twin air horns my transit 120db and never failed the mot

i quite fancy a 170dB air horn too can you buy them anyware or are they just for trains?

i got mine from near you ,at cdc truckstuff shop just off jt1 m18 rotherham ,its that truckstop you can see at side of the m18 , its a 40ft trailer converted into a shop , the horn is 12v -24v and requiers 80psi , it costs £55 for the horn , its a beast of a horn

its a two tone horn sounds like a train

used to be that the original horn had to work for mot if you had air horns fitted they couldn't be the only one, but that was a long time ago i was told this and probably gone by the wayside now, I'd still leave the original there and use the terminals/power feed as a convenient hook up place for a relay

which one is that the 120 dB or the 170dB
and how much are the compressers

yeah thats the one , i got the compress for £99 from argos they gone down now to £89 , i only got the compress to learn how to spary paint but never got round to it , its a 240v 1300w , i got a 2000w inverter to power power tools and a tv so the inverter powers the compress , the inverter was £140 off ebay new ive yet to put these in but ive tested anything , the horn is 170db

Might see if i can get a small tank to run the air horn with a tyre compresser to charge it manually after each use!!
not exactly gonna be sounding it constantly

Thats a good idea. I can get hold of an ISRI air seat from an ERF in work. (not my lorry so no worries haha)

not bad. I was thinking along thse lines myself for my old mk2 tranny, fancy a nice set of chrome hadley horns on the roof.
