amplifier install

Postby WRECKERSTEVE » Sat Dec 01, 2007 6:53 pm

i have finally got round to install the goodies and i have got a question when i run the power lead to the rear clipped to underside then thro floor i have got to split it into three via distibution block then to the amps this now means they get close to the rca leads and could cause interference can they be shielded to prevent this any input would be helpful :)
you break it i take it

You can buy a little box that you plug your rca's into then into the amp (1 bow per rca leads). Cant remember what they are called tho :D when i bought them from a shop they where £10.

I have never had a problem with interference, this was on my mates XR a few years back.

personally i wouldnt worry too much about going too close to rca leads with main power lead,

no matter what you do the main power is never going to be any further apart from the rca's
as it will always have to go to the amp,
rca's fit to one end - power leads to other,

as long as you dont go much closer than the length of the amp you shouldnt get much problems,
install instructions are generalised to cover all eventualities
and it is possible to loom rca's with main positive lead to run in one loom from front to rear

it depends on your electrical system
works with most,
but some times - occasionally - you can get the interferance from the charge system
