Thanks Val. Looking forward to the next Wedding or wind up, god only knows what next! It looks like she will get away without a respray, the only steel bits are in good nick, if it wasn't for the removal of some signs I wouldn't have needed to have the doors painted.

Here's a couple more interior shots just to prove she's very much still an amby!

What a beauty fred, you must be so proud to own her. what a real ambulance should look like, not the cheap imported rubbish we have here in humberside.

Trust me John, I HAVE to keep the blues covered up on the road, the temptation is just too great to let rip with that V6. Ironically, she was with Humberside then went to Hereford, who eventuelly pentioned her off (and also don't want to talk to me about her, despite 2 emails). And yes, thank you, I am damn proud..........

Very nice ambulence.
Is that a Halon bodied fronline one? if so they usually had a square equipment cabinet in the back just behind the passenger seat, with a rear heater in the base.

OH RIGHT!!! :D Thanks for that, it's cleared up a mystery! There is a 'clean' bit in the floor, with holes going right through the floor, and when you switch the heater switch, nothing happens, so I was wondering where the heater had been! The holes must be for the fuel, maybe there was a diesel tank for it cos the van is petrol, though it did have an LPG kit which was kept by the St Johns . When last in service, the amby was a first aid post, so was fitted with a load of units and work surface, the unit with the heater was gone then. I was planning to refit a small unit behind the passenger seat, and thought that maybe it had had a sink. Yes, she does have a Hanlon body, not sure if it was built in Ireland or Liverpool though, she has both numbers on a plate on the back step.

the heaters usually had t-connectors on the front heater pipes and the rear heater was kind of similar to a 'classic mini' heater

So was it powered off the transit heater? I thought you meant a night heater type thing.

I bought one from stand by with all the bits, call sign alfa bravo 661, the controls on the dash said, DO NOT USE BEACONS AND HORNS WITH THE HEATER ON!must have been to much of a drain, this is the heater you have missing Fred, it had twin battery's with safety cut off switch , mine had all the oxygen hook ups that lit up to say green for good red for empty,it was a 3000cc and was bought for £50 and driven home to use as a shed as my mum and dad was moving and needed the storage, it was taken away and scrapped after use, sadly we didn't have the money or the room to keep it

fred it had the lot,and it went to the grave that way, stand by means it was ready for duty if it was called,I had seen a CF with all the bells too but by the time I got round to asking about it she was in the scrappy with all the bits gone.............I will keep looking for you Fred they do turn up, there is an Ambulance Club and they use to have the bits to pass onto members so that might be worth a try.
Or how about getting a set of Air horns and getting someone to build you a circut to blasts one before the other and give you the two tones

hehehe sorry Fred, Next time i see one I will pull them off just for you :D

But how about this..................

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NORTON-INTERPOL-2 ... dZViewItem

NORTON INTERPOL 2 POLICE AIR HORN 2 TONE

I know its not the roof horns but it would be a start and you could put mock air horns that you can buy anywhere on the roof juat for show :)

Ta for that, you are forgiven! BUT, I am wondering if it's from a police motobike (Norton?), and will that be 9v? I have emailed the seller to find out. BTW, I can't see any place that Belle has had air horns on the roof, but I am convinced she would have had dee dahs, not the wail/yelp siren she has (without speaker) at the moment.

mmmm I didn't think about the 9v bit, you could be very right, yeah it should be the roof mounted ones for the age of the ambulance, I had a look on the web for the Ambulance club and I can't find it, it had a MK2 west yorkshire front line on there and I met the owner years ago at a car show who restored it from a wreck, it had non of the ambby parts when he found it in a scrap yard so he would have been great to email..............you may have more luck on your search.........I will keep the eyes peeled for two's for ya :D
