Connect Rattle

Postby pops » Sun Dec 23, 2007 12:41 pm

Hello. this is my first post so be gentle.

I have a 2003 connect T230, when initial excellerating through gears i'm getting a rattle from the gearbox/clutch area, it then dissapears. i'm certain its not from the engine itself. any ideas and can i repair myself,
ta

ive had a few connects and i think most of them seem to have a lot of transmission noise especially when the engine is on low revs, dont think its anything to worry about :D

TDCi or TDDI? I think the TDDi's didn't have a DMF Flywheel, so they dont absorb the extra vibration and harshness that a diesel engine produces, and the gearbox just amplifies the noise.

Its probably just gearbox 'thrash', its a common noise with connects and it is made to sound worse than it is because the noise is transmitted up the gear cables (just like the mk7 transit fwd) straight into the cabin area
