well i did a quote for a transit lwb 190 as iam 18 as well to but i did it as i had a full uk licence was 1400.00 with ncb and it was 3rd party only.

and when i did it as a licence provisional it was 1623.00.

but like bigneil says any 1st car/van is gona be sky high.

even when i did a quote skoda rapid 130 1.3 with ncb and a full uk licence was over the 1300.00 mark :!:
hope this helps

There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I am now in my mid forties, and have the full seven years no claims. I haven't actually had an accident for 20 years (touch wood) and only have three points for doing 35 in a 30 limit.

I have just insured my £25k transit fully comp and for all drivers holding a valid UK Licence for £300 per year (no age restriction). Insurance covers both commercial and private use.

The insurance broker is the National Farmers Union (NFU).

I've heard good reports of the NFU insurance from a few people. I did actually have a look at their website but you ended up having to ring them for a quote and it was a weekend - so I ended up with CIS again. I've used these for all my vans and they are one of the few insurers who will insure you for domestic use only which makes things a lot cheaper. They even insured the tipper the same - which surprised me a bit to be honest - though all it ever had in the back was a rather quick mower on its way to race meetings.

Jo also insured the Tourneo with them - though it's not on their website list. She had to speak to a couple of people there to get one who new how to "put it through manually". It was also cheaper for her to put me on as a named driver than have it just in her name, even though her licence is clean and I have the obligatory three points for speeding. Might be because she's younger than me - don't know. They did say though I think - that if she put a guys name on as named driver it always worked out cheaper?!

Cheers,

Andy

I use NFU and pay £1000 fully comp, No NCB as two claims to my name. I rate the excelent customer service in the event of a claim as higher than any marignal saving with other providers. As im selfemployed its alwowable against tax anyway.
