How do you mean Niel? Great if you have a Mk2 and want to sell, or great if you have a Mk2 and want to hang on to it?

Fair point. A minibus just one registration number from ours went very recently for £1,500. Scary. I think they are getting beyond the pocket of the exporters now.

I see what you are saying about filling the windows in, I doubt I could do the job myself. despite their rarity it probably would be easier just to try and find a mk2 van instead. plus I'd have to fill in the gap left by removing the pop top. looks like too much work...

All the same, I think I would give it a go, have you heard of tinning? It involves lead instead of filler, not someting you would weant to do every day, but I hear rhe finish is much better. Dunno what you would do with the roof though.

yes, I've heard of that- also known as lead loading. it's a thought, I may have a try on a piece of scrap metal first and see how it goes. I'd also need a side panel from a scrap van to get the vent louvres on the side

Hadn't hought about the louvres, have you thought of getting the whole side, if a suitable scrapper is available. While you are at it, take the roof!!!

I think ebay is your best bet for a twin choke webber and manifold. They are getting quite rare these days now cortinas and capris are pretty much extinct in scrapyards.expect to pay anything between 10-30 quid depending on how many other people want one at the time. I am fitting one to mine, but its a 38DGAS from a granada V6-should go a bit...
you may want to see if you can get the matching throttle cable and J bar to connect the carb up
