I think i really do need a laminated one - still not sure if my insurance covers it. Off to do a wee bit of brush painting tomorrow - hope fully get rid of the awful brown and cream (non-original) paintwork. I'll try and post some pictures soon if i can get my useless digital camera to work. if anyone knows of anywhere i can secure a laminated screen please let me know.

As Mike said, they are still available new, Mk1 and Mk2 are the same screen BTW, in case you get offered a 2nd hand one.

Thanks all - I'll keep my eyes peeled - got a quote of 98 quid fitted from an auto windscreen place - so may go that way if insurance won't pay.

Managed to use my phone for some photos - will upload them if my cacky computer will allow me to put them on it.

Cheers

That's a fair price, is it plus VAT? Instructions on posting pics are at the top of the Galleries mate.

I'm going through my insurance. However, i have a nasty feeling that the screen rubber may be knacked - big split in one corner. i don't want them to bond the screen so can anyone suggest where to get a new rubber?

I got one a few years ago form Autoglass, they had to order it though, if you get a new one don't use a second hand screen.

Well if you are having a brand new windscreen, and the old one didn't leak I wouldn't bother (it's the other way round that matters, new rubber with an old screen, lost 2 on fitting an old screen with a new rubber) but if it's a new screen and the old one leaked you might as well go the whole hog if you have the money and have a new rubber too. Don't let them bond in the screen to a Mk1 or 2
