Any known problems on a jumbo?

Postby rob@tts » Thu Jan 26, 2006 7:07 pm

Hi everyone,

Im about to join your ranks by gettin a transit!
Its a Y reg 350 2.4 90bhp jumbo and has done 117,000 miles.

Is there any problems with this engine/van size i should look out for? Its a bit mucky but i'll soon get it cleaned up in no time.

Im used to sprinters (im a courier) but have always liked the look of them and need a van of this size. Is there any known problems with oil leaks or leaking power steering? The guy says it has a leak but he thinks it the power steering and not the engine at fault.

Hope you can help me out anyway!

Cheers! :D

I bought a X reg med wheel base med roof, injector pump leaking, cost £1175 to put right (exchange unti from ford, deisel specialists wanted just the same or didnt want to know) was it worth it, only if it doesnt do it again, climb under and have a look, if its leaking then knock off £1500 on asking price

you should be able to tell if its diesel - if so do as chris says if its powersteering oil - why has the guy not fixed it?? :? i'd price a pump and rack up first  just incase!!

apart from that my cousin has a mk6 jumbo 90 he swears by it!! :D so much so he has got rid of his car and its the only vehicle he has!! :P the only thing is its a little underpowered on the motorway anything above 70 is a bit of a strain!
