This is really an excuse just to post a message and is nothing to do with the sacred Ford Transit but I might as well ask something someone might be able to answer.

Sounds like I've blown one of my tiny front door speakers from too much Metallica at too high a volume. Now I'm sure the only sound most of you lot like to hear when cruising down the motorway is the sweet melodic tone of a finely tuned engine but the sound of a screaming 1.1 Metro isn't music to my ears. So I'm looking for some shelf speakers at the cheap end of the market which can handle high SPLs but most importantly give the best quality sound for the money. I know my stuff with regards to Hi-Fi or studio PA but can't find any decent sites for reviews on car speakers.

I'm sure it's a case of the bigger the better so perhaps people on here have fitted some beauties to their Transits because there's plenty of room. Anyone?

Beggers can't be choosers :? and it's not so bad. Ask Luke, he has fond memories of throwing it around though will probably deny all knowledge now.

Will. halfords may do the speakers you are looking for unless they've stopped them now, but they used to do custom fit speakers that are designed to fit in the crap little spaces that manufacturers provide
but handle more power than standard speakers, the one's i bought were
blaupunkt (not for a metro though).

Demoed all of Halfords speakers and none are worth the money given the quality. So, it's time for a sub and a bit of ingenuity!

I always make it a point to never drive anything that will fit in the back of one of our Lutons! And less of the comments about women reversing, thank you very much!!
