Mk2 vented discs

Postby bortaf » Sun Jan 29, 2006 1:10 am

Will the vented discs and calipers from the Mk3 fit?
the Mk2 ones are a wee bit warped (still the best brakes of any motor i have but the peddel has started to pulse when i brake lightly.

Not at all sure, is it an early Mk3? How hard would it be to do the whole axle?

replacement mk2 discs are readily available from any motor factor and are not so expensive, also the calipers i got were not meant for the vented discs i have, however the calipers were exactly the same, apart from a spacer fitted between the 2 halves, so if you can get a set for the solid discs cheaper then just check the model numbers and if the same, simply add the spacer :D (remembering to use the original bolts of course as they are longer !)

Hey bortaf if your running the std 5 stud mk2 hubs the dicsc and calipers wont fit

The vented disc will bolt to the 5 stud hub but the caliper will hit on the outer hub
Yeah i know its big green and rusty so move your Porsche before i bash it with 460 cubes of fords finest cast iron
