My Mk.5 Transit restoration.

I am still finding it hard to get my head round somebody restoring a Mk5. Mk5s aren't 20 yet.....

ok restoring isnt the right word...
but im not sure what the best word is....

either way im doing work to her to return her to a cosmetic cndition similar to that of when she was manufactured... bit by bit

atleast till i can get the engine swapped

Update:
Today since iv had a day off... first time since i started my new job

so this morning i popped out to the local ford parts dealer and got the slampanel catch piece for the top of the bonnet... actually need to go back and get more.... as the one that i had on the old bonnet was.. well not able to be removed as the bonnet was an ex mk.4 and i dont think its compatable.. its certainly not now...

so came back and tried stripping out the passenger seats... no luck... couldnt get the bolt that hols the seatbelt equitment to the floor undone... but its managed to clean uner the seats and get rid of any crap that was under them...

even found a surprise... found my TomTom that i thought i had lost behind the passenger seats not bad considering i aint seen the TomTom since december 28th 2007

anyway got the seats coleaned and most of the floor cleared... gonna wash the front secton and hover any remaining crud tomorrow...

iv fitted my seats with leather effect seat covers that i got a few years ago for use in my car .. (at the time a rover 218i) just need to fit the last few clips for the drivers seat cover and its right as rain...

got confirmation my 2 most recently ordered panels have been shipped so i expect them by the weekend... then it will be cutting time for the old panels...and a big push to tet the new panels fitted.

Got the new bonnet fitted without the slam catch panel as i wouldnt be able to open it afterwards.. but ill get the other part/s tomorrow or atleast ill order them.
Moved the van back into the drive way and jave put a basic coat of paint on the bonnet and im letting it dry over night before i rub it down and put another coat on .

Ill post pictures later on...

No, he just painted the bonnet green so he could paint it a different colur, a little like yourself!

for the moment yeah...
longer term i may repaint her in another colour.. but she has been green all the time iv owned her and been arround her... but ill wait till i have sorted all the rotted panels before repainting the whole thing... rather than bit by bit... just gonna paint the new panels in matching green till i decide what colour im gonna repaint her.

currently though im thinking that IF i reapint her another colour.. that the options will be red, white or silver...

lol yes mosly but i can get stone chip and body filler and celly thinner from for local car shop still i perfer to pay with paypal on the net i dont have cash much in my hands its burns holes in my pocket
