thats odd.. i used to get told not to put my hands in my pockets... then when i turned 13 and the "changes" started i was told to slouch and put my hands back in my pockets

afraid im gonna have to be lazy and admit im not rubbing down the bonnet tonight for a second coat...

basically didnt finish work in time to collect the additional part i need from fords... and i didnt have time to get the right rub down paper.
plus i wouldnt pay halfords.

however im gonna try and swap the mirror on the drivers door for a mk. "pod" mirror as thats what should be on ...

however looks like the bloke that fittd the mk.4 mirror glued the plastic over to the door... so looks like its getting either smashed off or pried off with a large crowbar

anyone know what side the bolts for the mirrors are?

iv got the old mk.3/4 style mirror off... and was gonna try and fit the replacement mk.5 mirror iv has .. well i found it among some old spares and welders... but the top part (pointed) of the plastic on the part that fits against the door has broken off... not helped by the fact that the bolts seem too small.... so are unlikely to hold the mk.5 style mirror on....

oh yeah and there is no hole for the top part of the mirror to bolt onto/into and the bottom left hand hole doesnt have a bolt in it... its just a hole...


any suggestions chaps.
current requirement is to have her running and taxed for use on saturday then rest till next thursday when i start using her for work

im about to give up.
apparently there isnt a single thing i can do without f*** it up

went down to fords to collect the final part i need to get the bonnet prim and proper.
but apparently ford dont manufacture or suply the little bracket for the bonnet that the pull handle rests/fits on

to make some sense the bit im meaning is the bit that you move/spin/pivot that releases the catch that hold the bonnet in place... ok so i can sort something out
but now the cable that gets pulled to release the bonnet from the inside of the cab is f*** as its sticking.

add to this that when iv tried to replace the plastic surround for the fuel cap (the bit thats on the body, not the actaul cap) it wont fit right...

i dont have any confidence in my ability anymore and dont even feel that i have the ability to fit the panels when they eventually get here... thats over a F***ing week now...

they way im feeling just now im gonna sort the rear door panels and then gonna give up cos i dont think i can fit the front quarter panel

Ucof... it didnt help.. as that was the same albeit a bit different from my haynes manual that is far from helpfull.
but thanks all the same.


Update:
finally got my front quarter panel, and rear door panels... and now need another rear door panel to completly fix the rear passenger door.

hoping to fit some or all the panels over sunday and monday .

been painting the new (replacement) sliding side door.
getting very high and happy from the fumes
only on the second-ish coat and im hoping to have it fully painted over the weekend to fit on monday.

got the mothers canaries in the room im painting in... if they die like the canaries used by miners of old then i know iv used too much paint

well the door is painted... its not perfect but since iv brush painted it it never was gonna be...

thedoor is still in the lean-too/conservatory just now as im wanting the paint to be baked on hard... and well the weather is nice and the room heats up so...

just got to touch up some of the back/inside round the edges where you would see the white when the door is opened...


not looking like its getting fitted today nor will the front quarter panel be fitted today.
quite simply i dont wanna start working on it incase i dont get it finished by morning as i need the van for work.

was gonna get started yesterday but had a small electrical problem whil ei was out yesterday and was stranded for 5 hours till i could get someone to come out with tools.


spent some of those 5 hours yesterday sleeping in the back... and iv noticed what looks like the begginings of rush on th inside roof... i hope its not... but im worried.


god forgive me for saying this but im looking for another van... although at this point im not sure whether its as a replecement or as a second van for daily use while my baby beomes my project... as she does need alot of attention.

Gonna update this later with some pics...

This week iv managed to reline the rear axle brakes... needed new pads as the rear pads were close to the limit.. the front ones still had some life in them.. but you cant buy just the ones you need

anyway got that done... and finally got round to fitting the replacement rear exhaust section... although i need to patch a few holes before MOT day... so its off to halfords i think for a repair kit... lol


gonna fit the replacement bumper tomorrow... so that will tidy her up a bit more...
