Intercooler split

Turbo actuator seized

Why has it had new head :?:

What timing have you checked, crank to pump or pump to cam or all 3 together :?:
I miss my 'courtesy van'............140 Glx..now a Jumbo :(

Head was replaced due to belt failure (camshaft & caps damaged) Intercooler is ok.
Timing set due to pump replacement...pump had play in front bearing allowing belt to run
off the gear, this occured two weeks after a new belt was fitted. Turbo actuator is free.

If bearings in pump were at fault you should of had timming chain problems as well, and if at fault it would have filled the sump with fuel as seal would not fit properly, try disconnecting intake temp sender on intercooler and see if that makes a differance,if it doesn't replace .check egr valve as well, have you changed the fuel filter,if you read back on some of mysubjects you will see that i also have lack of power [u]http://www.machineryrepairs.co.uk. good luck

Tim...pump bearing had only slight side movement (about 1mm) but this allowed belt to run just off the gear.
The chain tensioner would allow for this movement. New pump fitted & belt runs in middle of gear. Van has been into ford dealer this week, they drove it & ran it on S.D.S diagnostic, only thing they said was turbo boost pattern was not as sharp as it should & that we had done everything!... have turbo coming for next week. Will keep you updated !

Have now replaced the turbo & still no go... Ford dealer ran tests & up-dated the E.C.U. data.
They said that 75 output LWB, Hitop is not the best connect van & that is probably the best it will be.
Driving the van is like a old escort diesel without a turbo, no flexibility to the engine & hardwork to drive.
I need to try a E.C.U on the van, can anybody help?

Sounds very much like mine, took my cat of the other day just to see what condition it was in,then ran it with out it on , turbo whistled like it should for about a minute and ran smooth, then went shut up and had what sound like a miss fire, but i think one cylinder is getting to much fuel,a lean mixture on deisel's mean low or no boost, know this from working on diggers and tractor's,i think mine registers a fault and goes to limp mode, going to go right through the timing soon. regards Timhttp://www.machineryrepairs.co.uk

Have at long last got the connect to go....after talking to our diesel fuel injection people in Colchester who repaired the fuel pump, they asked for the injectors which had been checked/serviced buy a different specialist before the pump was done. They tested them and said that the first stage was poor and the second stage was very low on output. After new nozzles/overhaul the van goes fine...
