Are you sure thats a 9" it looks like an 8" housing to me, do you have any pics of the center?

I bought this as a 9 inch housing and i never even checked, it was very cheap and i just took his word for it, however i measuerd it up last night and guess what.....!
You're right, well spotted!
Still going to use this tho ,as i'm sure it'll be ample for the 302,
Any reason why this is not a good idea?

Bugger, well at least it was cheap!

still a good unit and will live happily behind a 302, i had one in a cortina with a turbo 4.1 crossflow and gave it absolute hell and it never broke!!!

They came fitted to early mustang's some falcon's and US granada's

A little harder than the 9" to get parts for but places like richmond gear and strange stock all the good bits to rebuild and beef them up

Most auto spares shops and drivetrain specialists will try and have you believe that they dont exist and that your axle is infact a borg warner 78 (7.75", 9 bolt or what ever they want to call it) that is found under most Ford falcons, if this is the case dont bother with them because these "experts" cannot be convinced

Just been prepping the engine bay for painting..... God it's easy to say!
Apart from sanding, not much happening....
Will be getting an MGF steering wheel that the airbag has gone off so i can strip
it for it's boss, i'm going to be fitting a Springalex wheel to the van when it's finished.

After not getting enough time to finish the engine bay i decided to farm out the panel and paint, here is it fresh out of the booth getting the satin black around the screen done.


Will be posting more progress pics once the Transit is back in my garage!

With the Transit safe back in the shed it's time for refitting everything back together, had the crossmember powder
coated and with it all bolted up for the final time the engine could now go in for the last time!!!!!!!!!


With the wiring loom in, the pedal box could then go in along with the electric power steering unit.....


The standard column and box ( shortened a little but all hidden)


Need more shed time!

I came across this topic today and Im impressed ! Well done mate Very neat work!
What I found very intresting is the power steering conv. Very smart, I think it wont need that much of work like sundowner's as Im incapable of that!
What type of power sterring is that or from which model can I find a similar setup? Thanks Redeemer.
