Hi there, just buying my first transit and i'm going to ask a dumb question...wot do the model numbers stand for ie 80, 120, 190, etc etc.... heap on the ridicule if you must but i'd just like to know....hehe...thnx Paul :lol:

Perfectly reasonable question.

The numbers are the load carrying capabilites. The higher the number the higer the load it can carry.

80 = 800KG, 120 = 1200KG etc.

The 80 can carry 907Kgs
The 100 can carry 1062Kgs
The 120 can carry 1271Kgs
The 150 can carry 1556Kgs

I took these from the what van website so cannot confirm how accurate they are but they can easly be checked by looking on the plate in the passenger footwell.

well my 120 is 2630KG gross on the log book, last time i had it on the weighbridge going out was just over 1500KG- giving me 1100KG ish :?

so i guess its just a rough guide :D

What van states those weights as being pre 2000, but I guess that's probably only 94-2000. Knowing Ford they are probably completly different for each generation.
