Postby spikewt » Thu Jul 31, 2008 9:00 pm

Hi to all. its my fisrt post so ill try to make it interesting.
i'm getting rid of my astra van finally. what a pain in the arse they are!!
I'v always had bad luck when i buy a new motor so im wandering if someone could help so i dont screw up again. I'll give the basics then if anyones intersted in helping i'll post the rest. the vans an 03 plate thats done 71000. its an absolute mint by the looks of it an he wants 3000 for it. is that a concern or about right?

oh an can they be lowered cause they look awsome like that?

thanks alot for looking at least.

as for the intersting part : Did you know A 13-year-old boy in India produced winged beetles in his urine after hatching the eggs in his body.

As the front end of a TC is based on the focus you can lower the front end but the back end is a different story as the rear is leaf springs not coil springs like the front.

It has been done by BIG.GEOFF.H on here by moving the rear axle to be ontop of the leaf springs as opposed to under them. That however as far as I understand it myself means that the rear weight is pulling on the axle studs & bolt heads. This is not good if you were are planning to carry any more weight than a shoebox ( ) as all of the downwards force of the weight being carried pulls upwards on the leaf spring & bolt heads. The head bolts or the bolts fail  .....well I am sure you can guess what happens :? :? :?

must agree they look the muts nuts a bit lower, before i got my connect i was using me st mondeo and not really got anymore weight in the van compared to the car. in some situations i dont think it would matter the rear end been on normal springs, although it might be hard to sell it on.
