rear bumper removed

I am sorting the bodywork out on my mk5,removed the rear bumper and realised that the rear of the van looks better without it.was thinking of just putting a stainless tube across the back.Any thoughts??

best one ive seen is arctic warrier - has a mk1/2 rear valance welded in to complete the smooth look 8)
