You guys are nuts - I've clearly come to the right place
Mark, thanks for the pic, diff to be certain from a photo but I reckon that's exactly my set up. Can you just unbolt it and post straight away please
I presume that disc brake models have a larger servo and so Mk2/3 not really an option unless I'm planning on a disc upgrade (not in the least bit likely
Also, I presume later models had diagonal lnked systems (ie front R rear L together) whereas mine has two outlets for front, both off secondary chamber and just 1 outlet for rears off primary chamber so I'm guessing parts are not really interchangable unless changing every single braking component. I could be wrong.......
Now have m/c repair kit. This includes vacuum seal between m/c and servo which was completely absent from vehicle on dismantling. This could go someway to expalining lack of effective servo
Now rebuilding m/c and will fit to servo with new seal and pray. Not optimistic but I don't know how else to test servo.
Wish me luck or send further advice (or complete mk1 servo andm/c assemblys Mark) :D .

Having drained best part of a gallon (!) of liquid from servo m/c now rebuilt and attached to cleaned up servo and looking more like it should. But will it work like it should? Sadly Mrs Claypole and Claypoles junior insist we continue with our pre-booked holiday early tomorrow so I've got to wait another week to find out
Camping weekend planned for end of April so pressure will be on after holiday - haven't even started on interior yet
Wife thinks it might be easier to patch the tent - but where's the fun in that?
Will post progress here or Mk1 board in a while.

Promised update on Mk1 Camper

Postby claypole » Wed Apr 20, 2005 11:45 pm

Yesssss! Managed to get through the holiday without catching an early flight back. And after all the suspense of waiting, finally put the servo and master cylinder back on with nothing more than a faint glimmer of hope that we might be in business and what do you know - success. Couple more wheel cylinders later (broke the bleed nipples) and the brakes are now in full working order and as good as 1974 drum brakes on heavy motorhome ever were. Patched exhaust didn't remain patched very well but local exhaust guys managed to provide some pipe and a silencer that were vaguely similar and made to fit. Best bit is she sailed through MOT  and received a brand new tax disc for her pains today (wish I'd found a pre 73 now). Camping booked for week on Friday so better get busy on the inside. Actually, already have - fridge check, oven/grill hot plates check, Heater (such luxury) check, water - bugger. pump ok but have leak on first intake which means the whole thing is down but heh we'll take some bottles. Spit and polish, lots of elbow grease and should be ready to search out the sleeping bags. Wife is slightly suspect that 200 miles each way to the New Forest is maybe pushing it for the maiden voyage but I've got every faith - and at least we'll be comfy while we're waiting rescue :D
Would love to post pics but can't seem to work it. Do they need to be on a server and is it not possible just to post pics from hard drive?

WOW  It's that easy. Thanks a bunch.

This is just a pic from when I first found / viewed my baby. I'll try and post more on the appropriate board soon.

Fred, hope you don't mind, I added a sub-album to the account. I haven't looked yet to see if you have any kind of size limit but I can delete it as soon as my account conf comes through if you like.

Bye for now (back to work after long tea break!! :)

No I don't mond about a sub album, it hadn't occurred to me that there is a limit. But then again, I guess Luke hadn't realised what a monster he had made either! :D
